living single sucks

  • Jun. 11th, 2008 at 9:00 PM

It's been a week and a half since Rich went up north to work. I've managed to keep really busy every day at work or at home in brantford working in the yard/ on the pool. The evenings are horrible tho. Even tho most nights we just sit together on the reclining loveseat...me watching the tube and Rich either reading or gaming online...it's wonderful to have and know he's here.
The worst part of all this is,well besides the obvious , they sent him 2 weeks early...his boss is really a stupid useless dork. He worked for my company for a few years as a project manager....really poorly paid...and when he insisted on a big raise they laughed him out of the office...cause he's a stupid dork....
Rich did get to spend the weekend in Winnipeg and see a few friends...it was also their pride day on Sunday. His remaining weeks there however he will be working 6 days a week so no more jaunts to Winnipeg.
We talk or chat online every day and night..cel service is very sporadic there....luckily they have internet at the fishing lodge where he and the rest of the crew are staying.it KILLS me when he says he wants to come home...for the longest time he never really thought of either abode as his home despite my insisting on making sure his things were displayed throughout.
In spite of a concerted effort by a few fiends to get me out and keep me busy...I'd really much rather just stay home and hang out with the dog.
An old friend of Rich's from university was in town for the past week...I met him in Chicago ...so I took him for dinner friday night and we were there for the bear night at O'Girthy's. That was kinda fun....except for the uncomfortable scary stalker ex incident..his pal stayed here that night and we sat up til the wee hours....mostly talking about Rich's Winnipeg days. I spent saturday at home working in the yard and got back in time to finally get some groceries...Sunday I had dinner with a couple of friends and then sat at their house for a bit and had a beer. This weekend I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna spend the days at home working in the yard then come back to Toronto in the evening and putter around here....it's safer that way...well except for a quick visit to a birthday party....
I was single so long...and had actually come to be comfortable with the fact that I'd probably never meet anyone for the long haul...that the joy and surprise of having found...been found by?...the perfect mate makes a long separation very hard to take....we've both shed a tear or two...although not in the past few days...oops...well til now....
On a bright note....the road crew is shutting down the last friday of the month for a week and flying home....we're not sure if this will apply to the crusher crew...if so, he'll at least be here for the saturday n sunday of pride week...if it doesn't...because the 3 or 4 weeks hasn't even started yet...and won't til Saturday...he may not be home til mid July..... or later....sigh....I will probably only have dinner with the lesbians pride weekend and that will be it....just like the "good" old days?
I really hate this....

Man, I could have typed this when I was in Hong Kong last year and that was only for two weeks! It's ok to be pathetic :)

I was single for a long time, too. It is joy and surprise, isn't it, to find and be found.

Let me know when I can see you! And it's not about spending time with you just to alleviate your melancholiness. It's about you having a break in your schedule and maybe some free time. I've only really seen you about 4 times since that long winter hiatus. So let me know.

XOXO
