It's mid January, it's pretty cold and we've had a fairly busy winter already. You'd think that after 18 or 19 years of managing winter maintenance contracts....living in a trailer.....surrounded by a bunch of other trailer bunk units, salt trucks, plows etc that I'd be better at avoiding the annual winter rut/ blues...whatever you choose to call it. Cocooning in the trailer...only venturing out when work or a social invite demands. Hell I haven't even bought groceries on a regular basis lately...AND I'M A FAT MAN...I drank tap water last night.....GAWD they'll be taking away my gay card.
Luckily? an LJ friend posted an xtube vid of 2 beefy/hefty boys goin at it and while most were pleased/excited/satisfied by this....my first thought was "GAWD I bet my ass is as flabby / -er than THAT..." and I was HORRIFIED.
I had one good workout last week....the only one since we got busy before xmas btw.....and while work is a reason most of the time...there have been plenty of days when I could have snuck over to the gym for an hour or so. In my defense tho...I do have/ have had a little annoying "thing" that has made waist bands uncomfortable....and I've also been trying to keep my gym time to another friend's schedule....that may not work out so well......I don't work regular hours when I do work so late afternoon more often than not has to be nap time...either because it's going to be snowing over night or it has been doing so.....and that's a habit it's tough...and maybe unwise ...to break.I'm thinking / hoping that maybe I can work out during the morning and meet my friend at the gym later for some cardio during the last part of his workout.....that way I get to train when it's convenient....and more fruitful....for me and still have the added pressure of HAVING to go because someone is meeting me.....and being there to do the same for him.I'll inevitably miss some of the later cardio time but since I won't be sure exactly which days....it'll still help my friend stay on track.
In 5 months I'm going to be wearing a tux getting married....I will not be this wide when that happens....I have pics from my brother's first wedding...pre-gym but about at the weight I now am...it's scary.....doesn't willy look good in a tux.....and oh....look.....more Chins than the Vancouver phone book......
....and I'm back up to 2 packs a day...sheesh.....
So, here I/we go again. I'm promising myself....and Rich btw who claims to want me to be around for a while....that I'm going to have a decent workout today....I'm going to stock up on the healthy stuff I need to have around for meals to prevent me from warming up the deep fryer....that's filled with beef fat btw....not Canola or any other healthier oil.I'm going to hit the gym every day that it's feasible...only allowing work to interfere cause...well I do have bills to pay....I'm going to get back to half a pack a day by the end of the month and we're both gonna be non smokers by spring.
Evenings that are warmer than -7/-10 I'm going to...at the very least ....walk the fat retarded german shepherd at least down to the spit...and we'll visit Geronimo the "guard" dog at the boat place....if anyone needs a stolen boat get in touch......the dog loves me.....
Meals are going back to good carbs and protein...even on the weekends.....I really do enjoy veggies and dip....lots of fresh fruit and stuff....and an egg white omelet with a bit of low fat cheese is pretty tasty!
